Tips for creating a winning session proposal

Write a session title that tells people what they will learn about in the session. Creative session titles that reference obscure sci-fi movies or your pet’s favourite toy are fun, but can be a barrier to audiences (and the programming team) selecting your session.

• Suggest something new and fresh. We prefer not to repeat the same sessions that are being delivered at other conferences and events within the education sector.
  

• Show us how your session will advance the knowledge of our audience, and what it will help them to achieve in their organisations. This is especially important for case study-style sessions and panel discussions.  
  

• Use the full word count in your submission, but don’t go over. Pay attention to the word counts provided and get as close to them as possible. Proposals that are light on the details are rarely accepted.
  

• You are welcome to submit as many proposals as you wish, but we advise that you focus on quality rather than quantity of submissions. We want to be convinced that your passion is to deliver a particular talk, not just to get a spot on the lineup.
  

• Diversity and inclusion are a crucial part of the ContentEd programming process. Please consider this when planning your speaker suggestions, and the subject of your proposal.
  

• We welcome proposals from consultants and vendors with a deep education sector specialism. Please ensure that your proposal isn’t a sales pitch for your product or service (we offer lots of sponsorship opportunities for you to be able to do that).
  

• If you’re submitting a session that includes more than one speaker, please share the rationale for this and the added value or unique perspective that each speaker will bring. Tell us how you’ll deliver the session seamlessly and in an integrated way.
