Join the event team and help make ContentEd 2025 an outstanding experience for all
Running a non-stop 48-hour global online conference is a monumental undertaking, bringing together hundreds of people from around the world. To make it the best event that it can be, we need hosts and an event team that can pick up the baton and keep the event momentum going throughout. As such, we are opening our call for interest for two types of roles:
Event host
Event staff.
What’s expected and what will I get out of this?
For both types of role you will:
Be asked to attend pre-event briefing sessions and training (around 3 hours maximum in total, spread over time)
Be part of the behind-the-scenes crew and special ContentEd family
Be compensated for your time with a conference pass, ContentEd+ premium membership (if not a member already) and a voucher or cash payment.
Event hosts
Event hosts are the face of the conference. Like a conference chair, as an event host you’ll be responsible for live on-camera hosting, introductions and facilitating Q&A segments or panel chats. The hosts will:
Take the host role for a block of time, typically around 6 hours (but may vary slightly)
Be the “face” of the event for a particular region of the world as the event circles the globe
Keep the energy and momentum going for our delegates
Drive community engagement and interaction
Introduce session segments and speakers
Facilitate some Q&A sessions.
In return for your time you will receive a full place at the conference, a year’s subscription to ContentEd+ premium (if you’re not already an institutional member), and a £200 GBP payment or gift voucher for every block of around 6 hours that you host.
We want our host line-up to be as diverse and international as possible. If you’re interested in being an event host, please contact Tracy Playle for more information, a call to discuss (tracy@wearepicklejar.com). If you’re ready to apply, complete the form below.
Event staff
Event staff work behind the scenes in support of the event hosts, event speakers and our delegates to ensure smooth running of the event. They’re the backbone of the event, and a special part of the ContentEd community. Event staff will:
Manage delegate enquiries and help troubleshoot any issues such as event platform access
Manage the event platforms (Zoom events platform and the event backchannel space on ContentEd+)
Ensure that speakers are in the right place at the right time for their sessions
Ensure that the correct breakout sessions are broadcast at the right times (sessions are recorded in advance of the event but some Q&A happens live)
You may also be asked to introduce and/or facilitate some breakout Q&A chats, depending on the schedule.
In return for your time you will receive a full place at the conference, a year’s subscription to ContentEd+ premium (if you’re not already an institutional member), and a £200 GBP payment or gift voucher for every block of around 6 hours that you staff.
